On September 11, 2001, America was stunned into clarity. Churches filled. Flags covered our streets. Neighbors treated neighbors as fellow image-bearers of Almighty God, not as objects. Today, we’re watching videos of a public murder and scrolling through feeds where some cheer it on. That’s not a “right vs left” problem. That’s a heart problem.

Freedom is never risk-free. The same tools that protect the innocent can be abused by the evil. That was Charlie Kirk’s point when he talked about the “price of freedom.” A free people punishes criminals, secures order, and refuses to surrender liberty to the latest outrage. But none of that works without a moral core.

After 9/11, we caught a glimpse of what shared American ideals look like when lived out. I don’t mean to romanticize the time — we certainly made mistakes — but there was a common conviction that evil is real and life is sacred. We must recover that conviction without becoming bitter, cynical people.

Justice demands the assassin face judgment. Prudence demands we resist trading liberty for fear. Love demands we pray for America—and even for our enemies. And the Gospel demands we turn to Christ.

Today’s Todd Talk

My friends, twenty-four years ago today, our nation faced the evils of 9/11. Out of the ashes, for a moment, we found unity. But today, nothing could be further from the truth.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk is the latest evidence. This isn’t political — it’s cultural, and ultimately spiritual. Joshua 24 reminds us: “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.”

Charlie Kirk was a Christian, a husband, a young father. And yet, many mocked his death. From the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. And evil speaks loudly.

Our only hope is in Jesus Christ. He’s our hope as we fight evil and demonic forces in this world. And He’s our hope for eternity, where Charlie has entered His loving embrace. Praise God. May we proclaim truth, fight evil, and do good. SDG.

The Evils of Social Media

I’ve seen the grotesque things circulating on social media — people openly cheering the death of Charlie Kirk. Let’s be clear: celebrating murder is evil. Period. This isn’t a left vs right issue, it’s a good vs evil issue. And every one of us must choose, right now, which side we’re on.

If anyone agrees with the sentiments in these posts and videos, they’re not just a spectator — they are the problem.

The people behaving this way online have absolutely zero moral authority on anything. Do not take any lectures from them. They are the problem—and they need to be soundly defeated.

⚠️ Warning: the images below are graphic and downright evil. Be advised.
