My friends,

The White House recently declared Anti-Communism Week—and that’s a good start. But if we don’t understand why communism is evil, we risk repeating history.

In the 20th century alone, communist regimes murdered around 100 million people through starvation, forced labor, and political purges. Yet in 2025, some Americans still flirt with socialism as if this time it’ll be “different.”

On today’s Toddcast, I walked through how it all began—Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot—and how every single time the pattern ends the same: government control, crushed freedom, and unthinkable suffering. They promise equality, but what they deliver is misery.

The truth is simple: freedom works because it honors human dignity. You and I were created by God to live freely, to work, to create, to fail, to try again, and to help others out of love—not compulsion.

Communism kills. Freedom creates.

When government replaces freedom with force, hope dies and tyranny takes its place. Milton Friedman said it best: “A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither.” Ronald Reagan reminded us socialism only works in Heaven—where they don’t need it—and in Hell—where they already have it.

It’s time we stop romanticizing collectivism and start defending what our Founders built: a nation rooted in liberty, responsibility, and biblical truth.

Key Highlights from Today’s Toddcast

💀 Communism’s Death Toll – Nearly 100 million killed under Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and other brutal dictators. Todd unpacks how centralized power always ends in tyranny.
📜 The Founders Knew Better – America’s system of limited government protects liberty precisely because human nature is flawed.
⚖️ Freedom vs. Equality – Friedman’s warning: when equality comes before freedom, you lose both. When freedom comes first, prosperity follows.
🕊 Faith and Responsibility – Charity must be voluntary, not confiscated. Government can’t imitate compassion.
🚫 Socialism’s Rebrand – “Democratic socialism” is just a new label for an old failure. Todd exposes how it leads straight to the same destination: control.

Quote of the Day

Todd Talk: Georgia Democrats’ Top Priority: Fighting Trump

My friends, a new Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll shows what Georgia Democrats care about most.

It’s not the economy, inflation, or the cost of living. It’s not healthcare, education, immigration, crime, gun violence, or climate change.

No, their top issue is “standing up to Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans.”

One in five voters said that’s the most important issue in America today. But what does that even mean? And what does standing up to Donald Trump even look like?

They couldn’t tell you. This is the result of a decade of being stirred into a frenzy by the media and the Democrat Party.

And it’s why we had the Schumer Shutdown — all to play to the same fear they’ve been creating for years.

The takeaway is that propaganda is alive and well in the Democrat Party.

The Heavens Declare His Glory

Did you catch the Northern Lights last night? They were visible across much of the country — even in places that almost never see them.

I was able to see them clearly, and let me tell you, it was absolutely spectacular. I’ve caught a faint glimpse once before, but this time was different. You didn’t need a fancy camera to “see” what was really there — the colors stretched right across the night sky.

Sure, a smartphone still makes them look brighter than they appeared in person, but it didn’t matter. Standing there, watching those lights dance, was breathtaking.

Moments like that remind me what a magnificent world we live in — full of beauty, order, and wonder from our Creator’s own hand. In a world that can feel dark and divided, it’s good to pause, look up, and remember Who painted the sky.

Our first glimpse.

Lights begin to grow.

Colors turn spectacular.

Shapes change.

Absolutely beautiful and amazing.
