My friends, six days into the government shutdown and the fight in Washington isn’t really about whether the government stays open—it’s about what we’re being forced to fund.

The White House is warning of layoffs and service cuts, but this entire standoff could have been avoided if Democrats had agreed to a clean continuing resolution—keeping things steady for a few more weeks while negotiations continued. Instead, they’re demanding “restorations” of spending cuts from what I like to call the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Senator John Kennedy laid it out clearly: we’re talking about millions for projects like electric buses in Rwanda, dance workshops in Haiti, and LGBTQ+ grant programs overseas. That’s what the Radical Left wants restored before the lights come back on in Washington.

“The shutdown isn’t about keeping the lights on—it’s about what we’re being forced to fund.”

At the same time, we’re told there’s not enough money for border security, for responsible domestic priorities, or to root out Medicaid fraud. This is what happens when fiscal sanity meets ideological spending—when politicians care more about symbolism than stewardship.

We dig into all of this on today’s show, and I preview two important interviews this week: Michigan congressional candidate Shelby Campbell (who mocked Charlie Kirk’s death and agreed to come on anyway) and Eric Trump on Wednesday. These conversations matter because truth only spreads when we’re willing to face disagreement head-on. (If you have something you’d like me to ask either guest, please just hit respond and share those with me.)

The mission of this program—helping people hear and receive truth—hasn’t changed in ten years. But as the noise gets louder and the stakes get higher, we’ve got to get sharper and reach wider.

Today’s Todd Talk

After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination, We’re Doubling Down on Truth

My friends — I’ve been producing a daily podcast for ten years now, and a radio show for nine. From the start, my mission has been simple: to help others hear and receive truth.

Our core mission isn’t changing. But the assassination of Charlie Kirk has caused me to pause and re-evaluate things. It’s made it clear that the stakes are higher than ever — and that we have to fight back on every front, as best we can, now.

We’re adjusting our approach to reach more people — part of that means hosting more interviews, including two scheduled for this week, and adding deeper, issue-based dives on our website and in our newsletter.

We’ll keep speaking truth — boldly, clearly, and always, my friends, not bitterly.

Truth Doesn’t Need a Safe Space — It Needs Us

Quote of the Day

“A budget is more than numbers on a page—it’s a moral document of what we value.”

Ronald Reagan

Tomorrow on the Show: Shelby Campbell Joins Us

Tomorrow, I’ll be joined by Shelby Campbell, a Democrat running for Congress in Michigan’s 13th District.

You may have seen her social media reaction to Charlie Kirk’s assassination — remarks that were nothing short of reprehensible. And it makes me ask: Have we reached a point in America where people celebrate the death of someone simply because they’re on the other side politically?

If we have, that only makes this fight even more critical to win — and to win immediately.

I haven’t done many interviews over the years by choice, and while I’ve had plenty of exchanges with folks on the Left, I haven’t often had them join me on the program. So, I’ll give Shelby credit: it takes courage to step into a conversation like this.

I have no idea where it will go. But as I promised you — in today’s Todd Talk and in recent shows — we’re going to be more intentional about engaging people directly, even those with whom we strongly disagree.

Many won’t engage in dialogue. They’d rather post, mock, or shout obscenities from the sidelines. But Shelby accepted the invitation, and I commend her for that. I also hope, sincerely, to give her credit for rethinking and recanting mockery of Charlie Kirk’s death.

We’ll see where it goes. Stay tuned.

Growing Pains and Gratitude

Before I sign off today, a quick word of thanks.

Some of you noticed we missed Friday’s Daily Truth. We ran into a technical issue that created a hiccup in our publishing system — one of those growing pains that come with expanding into new markets, new formats, and new ways of sharing truth.

Thank you for your patience and for continuing to stand with us as we grow this community and push the message even further. Your support means the world to us.
