When crime turns city blocks into war zones, government officials should welcome help, not posture for politics. That’s the view most Americans intuitively hold, even if the media tries to shame them out of it. So let’s talk about what National Guard support actually is and isn’t.

The Guard isn’t patrolling your block looking for random arrests. In these deployments, they provide logistics—moving barriers, watching cameras, transporting equipment, securing perimeters—so sworn officers can do targeted policing. The Guard report to governors unless specifically called into federal service, and if it is, Posse Comitatus applies. In other words, there are guardrails to prevent the abuse of power.

Deploying the National Guard does not constitute a “police state.” In fact, its lawlessness that presents the greatest threats to Americans. Remember when Seattle’s CHAZ/CHOP ‘experiment’ collapsed in days? That’s an example of what happens when politicians abandon law enforcement and empower chaos.

Real victims pay the price for unserious policy. Ask Charlotte, where a young Ukrainian refugee, Iryna Zarutska, was stabbed on a train by a man with a long violent history. When a city tolerates a revolving door for dangerous offenders, the innocent absorb the risk.

Are there valid concerns? Sure: the militarization of law enforcement, threats to civil liberties, and general mission creep. We must adhere to the rule of law and the Constitution while also doing all that is necessary to eradicate violence in our cities. But far too often, it’s crime, not law enforcement, that makes neighborhoods feel like war zones in America today.

A nation that refuses to enforce its laws cannot ultimately survive. Compassion without accountability isn’t compassion—it’s an incentive for predators. America deserves safe streets and leaders with the courage to keep them that way. That starts with choosing law over chaos.

Today’s Todd Talk

My friends, Chicago is in the headlines again — this time for something called Operation Midway Blitz. Federal agents have begun a new immigration crackdown, and there’s even talk about sending in the National Guard. Now, some say this is a dangerous overreach — that it’s unconstitutional, even un-American, to see troops in our cities. Others say it’s about time — if mayors and governors refuse to enforce the law, then the federal government has to.

Here’s the real issue: America is a nation of laws, and when those laws aren’t enforced, chaos wins — and Americans suffer. The Guard may not be the perfect solution, but doing nothing guarantees more violence. And my friends, the level of violence in our nation’s cities is unacceptably high.

Why Does My Sex Matter?

My friends, someone left this comment on one of my recent TikTok videos:

"Oh great. Another conservative man with a mic. How refreshing."

My reply? "Don’t listen, sexist."

Now, let’s talk about this.

I’m conservative, not bitter. That means I don’t hate people with different beliefs than mine. I do, however, hate dangerous, destructive and evil ideas.

And while it’s true that our biggest political differences are rooted in opposing worldviews, it’s also true that many of our everyday disagreements aren’t really that deep. That’s why persuasion matters.

But persuasion wasn’t the goal of her TikTok comment.

Nope. This person just wanted to dismiss me because of my sex. Nothing about ideas. Nothing about truth. Nothing about persuasion.

Look, I get it. Social media gives people the courage of a keyboard. Everyone’s a hero behind a screen. But I have to ask:

Why does my biological sex matter?

From the tone, I suspect this woman hates men. Conservative men, in particular. But here’s the irony: people like me—and probably many of you—would be the first to defend her in public, regardless of her politics.

So why does the Left see everything through such a shallow, superficial lens? They want to appear deep and profound, but when push comes to shove, they fall right back into their superficial hatred.

That’s not persuasion. That’s not strength. And it sure isn’t refreshing.
