My friends,

It’s been said that the best predictor of the future is the past — yet too many in power act as though history never happened. Every time government promises to fix prices, control rent, or guarantee prosperity, it ends up destroying the very freedom that makes prosperity possible in the first place. These ideas sound compassionate on paper — “affordable housing,” “free childcare,” “fair wages” — but in practice, they create dependency, shortages, and chaos.

The Founders understood this danger well. That’s why they gave us a constitutional republic, not a pure democracy. They knew that unrestrained majorities could trample the rights of the individual, and that no government, no matter how well-intentioned, could plan or produce prosperity better than free people pursuing their dreams.

Reagan understood that too. He often reminded us that government is not the solution to our problem — government is the problem.

There is a 0% chance—zero—that this ideology will work. You can’t argue with math or reality, no matter how good the promises sound.

Todd Huff

When politicians say there’s no problem too big for government to solve, they’re really saying there’s no limit to the power they want to have over you. Every new “solution” comes with new rules, new taxes, and fewer choices. The truth is, the more the government tries to control, the less control you and I have over our own lives, our businesses, and our futures.

If we truly care about helping people, we should focus on empowering them — not managing them. Freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin. When you lose one, you lose the other. America’s greatness has never come from bureaucrats or planners; it’s come from ordinary people, free to take risks, build, and fail forward.

So as New York City dives headfirst into yet another socialist “experiment,” let’s remember: there is a zero percent chance that this ends well. But there is a 100% chance that you and I can keep speaking truth, standing firm, and reminding our fellow Americans what real freedom looks like.

And that’s exactly what we need to do.

Todd Talk: Democrats Hold America Hostage Over Filibuster Fight

My friends, President Trump is once again calling on the U.S. Senate to nuke the filibuster so the government can reopen. But Senate Majority Leader John Thune says there aren’t enough votes.

The filibuster was supposed to be a tool for the minority to keep debate open — more speech, more discussion, more light on important issues. But that’s not what’s happening now. The tool has been hijacked by those who want to hold the American people hostage in hopes of scoring political points by blaming the majority.

Republicans have the majority, that’s true, but not the super-majority needed to defeat the filibuster.

Democrats are acting like petulant children, shutting things down and hoping it pays off politically. This has to stop so Americans can have a government that works — not one constantly used as a political weapon.
