Leadership in America is in crisis — not because of a lack of voices, but because of a lack of humility, patience, and persuasion. Krish Dhanam, filling in for Todd, challenges us to see leadership through the lens of service and restraint.
Humility means thinking less often of yourself and more about those you represent. Patience means resisting the urge to react and instead choosing to respond with wisdom. Persuasion means convincing not by shouting louder, but by embodying the Christ-like spirit that loves even those who oppose us.
George Washington modeled this by stepping away from power when he could have kept it. William Wilberforce modeled it by laboring for decades to end the slave trade. And Jesus Himself modeled it by washing His disciples’ feet.
These examples stand in sharp contrast to the childish antics of today’s political class — more interested in soundbites, fame, and self-enrichment than in true statesmanship. Krish reminds us that if America is to be preserved, we need leaders with a steady pulse: humble in posture, patient in influence, and persuasive in truth.
“Humility is not thinking less of yourself — it’s thinking less often of yourself.”
Today’s Todd Talk
My friends, there’s a difference between consequences and cancel culture. Consequences happen when someone is held accountable for their words or actions. Cancel culture is when the mob destroys people — not to bring justice, but to silence them. And that difference matters. Because if we create a society where one bad comment ruins your life, then nobody is safe, not even the people cheering today’s cancellations.
Accountability is about responsibility and virtue. Cancel culture is about destruction and intimidation. We need to know the difference. If we want a free and civil society, we must practice grace, forgiveness, and proportion. Not bitterness. Not mob rule. Because at the end of the day, redemption is always a better story than ruin.
Quote of the Day
“Leadership is influence — nothing more, nothing less.”
